La Calobra
La Calobra is a charming little port that has little more than scenery and a few, like-priced cafes to offer - but this is more than enough!
An area of outstanding natural beauty, it`s nearby labyrinthine rock formations and great monolithic pinnacles include the impressive Torrent de Pareis. This gorge has 1000ft high walls and is known as the Grand Canyon of Majorca.
Travelling by road to the port you can encounter the twisting 'Snake' which descends through wild and romantic scenery, with many bends, to the coast far below. Near the top, in what is known as the Nus de la Corbeta (knot in the tie), it turns through an angle of 270 degrees and passes under itself.
